How does it work?
IPL Hair Removal technology
The treated area is exposed to highly controlled pulses of light, which are absorbed by the hair follicles below the skin surface. The absorbed light heats the hair follicles, disrupting their re-growth potential without affecting the surrounding tissue.
The treatment
Hair in the treated regions should be closely shaved away and a cold gel applied prior to treatment. You may feel a little stinging or a warm sensation as the light pulses are applied to your skin. When the gel is washed off, much of the hair will be wiped off with it. Any remaining hair in the treated region will be shed over the following week or two.

Frequently Asked Questions
White or blonde hair does not respond to laser treatment, as it targets the melanin and pigment in the hair. In addition, fine facial hairs are better left untreated, as laser hair removal can have an adverse effect and actually increase hair growth. You should not have laser hair removal if you are pregnant.
Most patients who visit Dermasurge for laser hair removal can resume daily activity immediately after treatment, though they may experience redness and sensitivity for up to 48 hours. Patients should avoid exposure to extreme temperatures, such as hot baths, saunas, steam rooms or sun exposure for a week post-treatment, and refrain from vigorous exercise and swimming during the healing process.
Patients usually find that after a course of treatments, results last for around a year, though depending on the individual, can be permanent.
Usually, a course of 6-8 treatments is recommended for optimal results. However, this can vary depending on the area of treatment.
