Dermal Fillers2024-03-18T13:00:55+00:00

Dermal fillers are the perfect cosmetic treatment to give you instant firmer and youthful-looking results.

The changes in our skin as we age are well-documented and can include fine lines, wrinkles, nose to mouth lines, volume loss, and sagging skin. These changes are largely due to a dramatic drop in the levels of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid (HA) within the skin. These substances occur naturally and are responsible for keeping the skin firm, youthful, healthy, and in the case of collagen and elastin, repairing damage or injury. As a person ages, the level of these substances in the skin is reduced and thus wrinkles begin to form.

Dermal fillers (which are produced from hyaluronic acid) become a perfect treatment to tackle unwanted creases and wrinkles and provide instant plumpness and firmness to the skin. So whether you want to hideaway tired under eyes, plump up your lips or enhance your facial features using fillers is an excellent option with no downtime.

What does the treatment do?

For patients looking to add volume and definition to the skin, or smooth out deeper wrinkles, dermal fillers London offer the ideal solution. Made of HA, the same substance that occurs naturally in the skin and is lost as we age, dermal fillers are a highly versatile treatment offering a range of benefits, from adding definition to the structure of the face and jaw, reshaping the nose, restoring volume to the cheeks, plumping out wrinkles, and enhancing the lip area.

At Dermasurge, we offer several different types of dermal filler in London, each with their own unique strengths when it comes to correcting and rebalancing the aesthetics of the face. All injectable treatments are performed by our founder, experienced consultant dermatologist Dr Hiba Injibar. Prior to treatment, all patients will undergo a thorough consultation and skin analysis with Dr Injibar, so that she may thoroughly assess the skin and recommend the ideal treatment plan to achieve the desired results.

Dermal fillers have gained somewhat of a negative reputation in the last few years due to their prominence in the media. Patients considering aesthetic treatment may feel unsure about opting for fillers, with visions over over-exaggerated lips and puffy cheeks, as seen on an endless list of celebrities, fresh in their mind. However, at Dermasurge, we utilise a combination of Dr Injibar’s skilled technique along with the most innovative injectables on the market to create subtle enhancements that never look unnatural or overdone.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do dermal fillers last for?2020-01-09T07:41:17+00:00

By using the best quality treatments on the market, many of our patients at Dermasurge can enjoy results for up to 18 months, however, this may vary depending on how each patient reacts to the filler and how quickly their body processes HA. Repeat treatment will be necessary in order to maintain results over a longer period of time.

What can dermal fillers be used to treat?2020-01-09T07:42:40+00:00

Dermal fillers are highly versatile, and can be effectively utilised in the treatment of a range of aesthetic concerns, including indented scarring, facial asymmetry, fine lines and wrinkles, or enhancing the lip area. If you think dermal fillers could help you achieve the look you’ve been dreaming of, please schedule a consultation with Dr Injibar.

Do dermal fillers hurt?2020-01-09T07:43:21+00:00

Though some patients do feel discomfort during injections, Dr Injiba does all she can to increase patient comfort for a relaxing, enjoyable experience. If required, numbing cream can be used, and some of the fillers we offer contain lidocaine, an anaesthetic that numbs the treatment area whilst the injection is occuring.

Is there any downtime?2020-01-09T07:44:00+00:00

Dermal fillers are non invasive, and patients may resume their normal activities immediately after, though they should be aware that they may experience redness, swelling, bruising, or irritation for a few days post-treatment. Patients should not apply pressure or massage the injection site for a few days.

Am I a candidate for dermal fillers?2020-01-09T07:44:41+00:00

Dermal fillers are suitable for most patients, though during consultation, they should make Dr Injibar aware of any allergies, autoimmune diseases, or infection at the site of treatment. Pregnant or breastfeeding mothers should not undergo dermal filler treatment.
