We are excited to add the amazing Q-switched laser machine by Deka to our arsenal of lasers, skincare and skin rejuvenation treatments at Dermasurge Clinic. This Q-switch laser is for tattoo removal and to treat any form of pigmented lesions on the skin.
What is Q-switched Nd:YAG laser?
By definition, a Q-switched (Q-switched Nd:YAG laser) involves the use of a laser to create pulses. Unlike traditional laser pointers that emit a continuous beam, Q-switch lasers create laser beam pulses that last billionths of a second. In a very short period of time, energy from the laser is released and becomes concentrated into extremely powerful bursts.
The powerful, brief pulses have two key benefits:
First, these pulses are strong enough to break down little parts of ink or pigmentation as well as stimulate collagen production. (Q-switched lasers are preferred for their performance because not all aesthetic lasers have the required strength for these purposes.)
The second benefit is that the energy only remains in the skin for a few billionths of a second, so surrounding tissues are not damaged. Only the ink is heated and broken, while the surrounding tissue remains unaffected. As a result of the short pulse, these lasers can remove tattoos (and excess melanin) without causing adverse effects.
When to use Q-Switched laser technology?
Q-Switched lasers are the best choice when it comes to tattoo removal because of their high penetrating power. This feature makes them perfect for all skin types, especially darker skin tones. They deliver short pulses that offer precise control over energy flow and can target tattoos with ease without damaging surrounding skin tissue.
Other popular uses include getting rid of pigmented lesions, such as age spots, sun spots, birthmarks, freckles and moles.
The pinpoint accuracy of these lasers allows for improved precision in targeting pigment loss. It is also able to remove tattoos without causing scarring.
What are the benefits of a Q-Switched laser?
Q-Switched lasers provide many benefits, more than you get with regular lasers. Some of these benefits include:
- Fast treatments.
- Precision control. Q-Switched lasers are able to areas with increased accuracy in comparison to regular lasers
- Minimal downtime.
- Safe Procedures. Q-Switched lasers only target the pigment, leaving surrounding skin tissue untouched.
What is Q-switched used for?
With advanced technology, Q-Switched lasers are used to remove unwanted brown spots, sun freckles, or different coloured tattoos from your skin.
Dr Hiba Injibar uses this technology to
- Remove unwanted Tattoos (different colours)
